Thousands of Hulu subscribers reported problems accessing the streaming service during the Oscars on Sunday.

Hulu suffered significant technical difficulties on Oscars Sunday, with more than 34,000 users reporting that the site was down within the ceremony's first hour, according to DownDetector.com. Reps for Disney and Hulu did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly's request for comment.

Hulu released a statement Sunday after facing technical difficulties during its first time streaming the Oscars live on the platform.

In its first year livestreaming the Academy Awards, Hulu is facing some technical difficulties. Users reported that the streaming service was crashing as they tried to tune into the Oscars. On X, Hulu’s official technical support account acknowledged that there were problems.

Complaints came in quickly as the streamer's much-touted first year sharing the broadcast went haywire for many subscribers; the company said to update its app.
