The NXT “New Year’s Evil” event on Jan. 7 drew the WWE developmental brand’s biggest TV viewership in over five years. According to Nielsen data, “New Year’s Evil” averaged approximately 957,000 total viewers from 8-10 p.

Tuesday night’s special New Year’s Evil edition of WWE NXT averaged 957,000 viewers on The CW, up 52.9 percent from last week. It’s the best viewership total for NXT since moving to The CW and is the show’s largest overall audience since September 25, 2019.

The NXT Championship and NXT Women's Championship are up for grabs at NXT: New Year's Evil on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

Oba Femi is the new NXT Champion. At NXT New Year’s Evil, he defeated Trick Williams and Eddy Thorpe in a three-way match to become the new champion. This ends Williams’ reign with the championship after 93 days, when he defeated Ethan Page for the title during NXT’s premiere on the CW back on October 1.
