NVIDIA’s new Project Digits mini supercomputer is designed for developers, researchers, students, and data scientists who need to run AI models and will be small enough to fit in a bag.

One of the biggest announcements in Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s CES keynote was the small “Project Digits” AI supercomputer, and if you want to get an idea of just how tiny the $3,000 machine is in real life,

Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nvidia unveiled Project Digits, a device it's calling a 'personal AI supercomputer.'

Nvidia offers a range of similar devices in the same accessibility style — in December, it announced a $249 version of its Jetson computer for AI applications, targeting hobbyists and startups, called the Jetson Orin Nano Super (it handles models up to 8 billion parameters ).

But what's inside makes it pretty special. Digits is powered by Nvidia's new GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, which delivers up to 1 petaflop of AI performance, and Nvidia teamed up with MediaTek to make the chip more energy-efficient, meaning that running it requires the kind of power you get from a standard power outlet.

Nvidia caught the imaginations of many technology enthusiasts on Tuesday with its show-closing, 'just one more thing'- style reveal of the Project Digits AI supercomputer. But seasoned graphics chip designer Raja Koduri and disruptive AI server startup Tiny Corp were not enchanted by the small golden box or blinded by Jensen's shimmering jacket.

Paired with Arm's advanced Cortex-X925 and Cortex-A725 CPU cores, DIGITS promises a new level of computing power. Despite its size, it can process massive AI models with up to 200 billion parameters and is capable of running the most resource-intensive AI tasks with ease.
