Jones' performance and Anthony Richardson's absence during OTAs and minicamp aren't going to determine the quarterback competition. In terms of getting a true evaluation during this time of the year, when there is no pass rush and receivers can run freely, well, that's difficult.

Despite a recent injury scare surrounding his right (throwing) shoulder, quarterback Anthony Richardson is expected to be healthy for Indianapolis Colts training camp, NFL Network reported Friday.

The Colts brought in veteran quarterback Daniel Jones in the offseason to compete with Richardson, and he will get an opportunity to develop some rapport with his new teammates at minicamp. If Richardson is unable to go early in training camp, that could be an excellent opportunity for Jones to claim that role.
