A representative of one of the groups that sued said immigrant communities that have lived in Chicago for years are scared.

Multiple Chicago immigrant advocacy groups have filed a lawsuit against Immigration Customs and Enforcement leaders, saying "the administration's announced raids are retaliatory in nature and violate the First Amendment.

But as of Sunday night, it was unclear when and where the mass deportations of undocumented immigrants would take place.

Immigrants in Chicago and other U.S. cities have been preparing for immigration arrests since President-elect Donald Trump won the November election.

The numbers could indicate that the Trump administration’s show of force has so far outpaced the government’s ability to quickly deport more migrants.

In his first week in office, President Trump is enforcing his immigration crackdown that’s instilled fear in some major cities. Troops have been deployed to the border and ICE agents are carrying out a series of raids nationwide.
