If you didn’t know, January is National Soup Month, and a company that often comes to mind when you think of canned soup decided to offer people a different way to experience chicken noodle: in the form of drops.

Each order of 20 drops comes in a container resembling Progresso’s actual soup cans and is accompanied by a can of actual Progresso Traditional Chicken Noodle Soup. The cost of both is $2.49, plus 99 cents shipping.

Progresso's new Soup Drops, a hard-candy version of a chicken noodle soup, sold out the day the product was announced, the company said on Instagram.

The confection allows consumers to take the flavor from a bowl of chicken noodle soup on the go, and Kellanova turns to pizza flavors for its latest Cheez-It varieties.

"For decades, Progresso Soup has brought you cozy comfort on chilly days or when you're under the weather," said MC Comings, VP, Business Unit Director for Progresso at General Mills. "When you're sick, nothing is truly more reassuring than Chicken Noodle Soup. So, we thought, why stop at the soup bowl?"

Progresso unveiled their new soup drops last week, which are chicken noodle soup-flavored hard candies. They sold out in under an hour.
