Flooding has closed roads in Franklin and Fairfield counties following heavy rains in central Ohio. A large amount of rain fell across central Ohio on Saturday evening, creating localized flooding and traffic hazards.
Travel delays are mounting as airports on the east coast experience ground stops due to thunderstorms. Chicago streets were flooded by heavy rain and millions baked in extreme heat with brutal temperatures expected to continue into the weekend.
Footage from residents showed heavy flooding on Harlem Avenue in Summit and on Drake Avenue in Chicago’s Brighton Park neighborhood. Video from a viewer in Darien showed heavy rainfall and flooded streets in the area. The flooding prompted several roadway closures across parts of the Chicago area.

The severity of the rain has caused several area roadways and businesses to flood, especially throughout Washington County, according to the National Weather Service. The areas of impact include south of the city of Washington near the Washington County Airport.
