The 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV is a blend of outlandish performance and undeniable visual impact, though it’s not necessarily meant for the hardcore off-road crowd.Despite its off-road potential, most of these luxury rigs are more likely to be seen cruising city streets than climbing boulder fields.

At 92.1 inches wide the SUV’s the same width as the pickup, but its wheelbase is 8.9 inches shorter and overall it’s 20 inches shorter. The shorter length changes the presence, making the SUV look like it was plucked from a child’s cartoon.

There’s an irony in the Hummer nameplate being brought back as a battery-electric sub-brand of the GMC family. Given its extreme bulk, there’s a sense of GM executives paying penance for the brand’s previous gas-guzzling ways.
