According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the magnitude 2.1 earthquake had an epicenter near the town of Trion, Georgia, near Alabama's eastern state line. That's about 25 miles from Mentone in northwest Alabama, and about 60 miles from Gadsden. The quake was registered about 7 a.m. Central time March 29.

Alabama got a commitment from the nation's top cornerback as five-star Jorden Edmonds pledged to the Tide on Wednesday. The Class of 2026 prospect out of Sprayberry High School in Marietta, Georgia, picked Alabama over interest from Georgia and Tennessee .

The Georgia Bulldogs have made the top five of yet another elite recruit. Four-star interior offensive lineman Brandon Anderson listed Georgia in his top five. Anderson's top schools list also included Missouri, Alabama, Florida State, and Tennessee.
