Which? looks at prices at Aldi, Asda, Lidl, Morrisons, Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose to find the cheapest grocer - and this month, the bill for the winner came to £100.29 on average

Aldi has been named the UK's cheapest supermarket of 2024 by consumer group Which?, with the discount retailer topping the charts for the month of December as well as every other month last year.

Lidl also remained in second place behind Aldi as the cheapest supermarket for smaller shops throughout the year. Waitrose was £29.54 pricier than Aldi in December, at £129.83, and remained the most expensive supermarket for smaller shops for every month in 2024.
