“I’m not (going to) change,” new head coach of the Canada women’s national team (CANWNT) Casey Stoney told The Athletic’s “ Full Time” podcast, sprinkled with a laugh, which means Stoney is going to “sit on a cooler.” She is going to sit on that cooler with “nice coats and nice blazers” and some Doc Martens-esque verve.

Stoney was named head coach of Canada’s women on Monday. She signed a three-year contract with Canada Soccer that runs through the 2027 Women’s World Cup, with an option for 2028. Stoney takes over the Canadian team from Bev Priestman, who was fired in the wake a drone surveillance scandal at last year’s Olympics.
