Attorney General Gentner Drummond, also a Republican, sued to stop the school. He called the 4-4 vote “a resounding victory for religious liberty” that also will ensure that “Oklahoma taxpayers will not be forced to fund radical Islamic schools, while protecting the religious rights of families to choose any school they wish for their children.”

The Supreme Court on Thursday said President Donald Trump doesn’t have to rehire senior officials he fired from two independent federal labor agencies that enforce worker protections, while the officials continue fighting in court to reverse their terminations.

The court indicated its decision doesn’t necessarily apply to the central bank and Chairman Jerome Powell — a frequent target of Trump’s criticism on economic matters.

One of them, Roger Severino, who was appointed to the Council of the Administrative Conference of the United States shortly before Biden took office, sued the Biden administration over his termination. The U.S. District Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit tossed the suit, however, ruling that Biden had the authority as president to fire Servino.
