After a relatively weak storm expected to arrive in L.A. late Thursday, forecasters say a potentially more powerful storm could hit around Valentine's Day.

Two storm-related deaths were reported around Santa Rosa in the last 24 hours as rivers swelled and another round of rain moved in, authorities said Thursday morning.

An atmospheric river event that slammed California this week is expected to subside on Wednesday after causing some flooding, mudslides and major downpours in the northern part of the state. As of Wednesday morning,
