The Portland Trail Blazers have reportedly agreed to a multiyear contract extension with head coach Chauncey Billups, per ESPN. Billups was in the final guaranteed year of his contract, but Portland clearly views him as their coach for the future,

Hall of Famer Chauncey Billups became the head coach of the Blazers in 2021. The one-time NBA champion with the Detroit Pistons hasn't had much success in Portland. He has a winning percentage of .355.

Billups, since arriving in Portland, set out to reshape the team’s culture. That proved difficult to do with so much roster turnover in years two and three. This season, the Blazers returned most of its roster from 2023-24, making Billups’ job easier.
