Ryan Gosling is set to embark on a journey to “a galaxy far, far away” in a new “Star Wars” movie. The “Barbie” star will join forces with director Shawn Levy for “Star Wars: Starfighter,” slated for release in May 2027.

Titled Star Wars: Starfighter and scheduled for release on May 28, 2027 — the same week as the 50th anniversary of the original 1977 Star Wars — the project was announced at the annual Star Wars Celebration, held this year in Chiba, Japan. Deadpool & Wolverine and Free Guy director Shawn Levy will helm the project, with Ryan Gosling starring.
