Five players and two coaches were ejected after a hard foul by Detroit's Ron Holland II on Minnesota center Naz Reid. Reid took exception, as did his teammate Donte DiVencenzo, who originally stepped in to separate the two before wrestling Holland to the ground. Players and coaches from both teams then jumped in to the mele.

At that point, both teams rushed over to the baseline and shoved their ways into the crowd underneath the basket. It appeared a couple players threw punches while team personnel tried to split them up.
