A man from Massachusetts was found carrying a firearm after visiting the US Capitol and departing the Library of Congress on Tuesday, according to police officials who spoke to ABC News on Thursday.

The JFK Library in Boston abruptly closed on Tuesday due to an executive order by President Trump, a library spokesman said.

The Library of Congress now separates books into 21 categories, using the alphabet to distinguish each category.

"Due to an Executive Order concerning a 'reduction in force (RIF),' the JFK Library and Museum will be closed to the public until further notice," a sign posted on the door of the library said.
