The Senate Agriculture Committee held a hearing on the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act discussing bringing back whole and reduced fat milk back to schools after a ban nearly 15 years ago.

Whole and 2% milk has been banned from school meals since 2012. There is a new push by federal lawmakers and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to put it back.

Whole and 2 percent milk may be coming back to school lunch trays, more than a decade after being removed to help reduce childhood obesity, The Associated Press reported. Federal lawmakers have reintroduced bills to allow schools to serve higher-fat milk once again.
