GazaAt least 51 Palestinians were killed in a wave of Israeli air strikes on Gaza over the past 24 hours, as the war rages on despite reports of progress in long-running talks aimed at securing a ceasefire and the release of hostages held by Hamas.

At least 19 Palestinians, including eight children, were killed in Israeli air strikes in southern Gaza overnight, local health officials say. A mother and her four children were reportedly killed when a tent camp for displaced people in al-Mawasi was hit, while another a couple and their children died in the nearby city of Khan Younis.

Gaza is a territory spanning 25 miles at its longest point, where the displaced are sheltering in tents on the beach.
