One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 in Richmond on New Year’s Eve, the Richmond Firefighters Local 188 said. The crash happened just after 1 a.m. near the Barrett/San Pablo Avenue exit.

It happened near Malcom between exit 191 and 197 around 5:30 Friday night. Authorities say a truck was traveling eastbound on I-80 when it rear ended a ford passenger van. That crash caused the van to go through the median into oncoming traffic in the westbound lane, colliding with another truck.
