Branding removed from Houston Astros’ ballpark, construction for ‘Daikin Park’ rebrand underway
A rebrand is underway for the iconic ballpark home to the Houston Astros. The Astros’ ballpark, which has been known as “Minute Maid Park” for the last 22 years, is now rebranding as “Daikin Park,” after the Japanese air conditioning conglomerate agreed to acquire the stadium’s naming rights.
Minute Maid Park signs officially being removed to make way for Astros' Daikin Park
The work of removing the Houston Astros ballpark’s Minute Maid Park signs, some of which have been on the stadium for nearly 23 years, began Wednesday morning. Work crews removed signs on the Texas Avenue and Hamilton Street sides Wednesday with plans to start taking down the signage on the Crawford Street side of the stadium Thursday.
Daikin Park signage begins replacing Minute Maid at Astros stadium
Minute Maid signage across the ballpark will be removed entirely in March, with the month's conclusion marking the official start of Daikin's reign as the Astros' stadium sponsor. Houston will host Juan Soto and the New York Mets on Opening Day, with first pitch on March 27 slated for 3:10 p.m. CT.
