According to MoparInsiders, the V-8 Charger is already in the works. The news comes just a day after the same outlet, citing its insiders, reported that Hemi family V-8 production is set to resume in August, suggesting that the Charger is part of the brand's future plans for its once-retired engine family.

There’s no word on performance specs, but the old 5.7-liter V8 produced 372 hp (277 kW / 377 PS) while the 6.4-liter engine cranked out 485 hp (362 kW / 492 PS). That’s not impressive anymore as the twin-turbo 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six is expected to have outputs of 420 hp (313 kW / 426 PS) and 550 hp (410 kW / 558 PS).

Dodge is planning to bring the Hemi V-8 engine back to the Charger, according to a new report from Mopar Insiders.The Hemi V-8 would rejoin the Charger lineup alongside a newly added twin-turbo inline-six and a set of Charger Daytona EV powertrains.
