Cody Bellinger was scratched from the New York Yankees lineup against the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday with a suspected case of food poisoning.

Manager Aaron Boone told reporters pregame that Bellinger came down with food poisoning after eating chicken wings on Monday night. He’s been vomiting and is considered day-to-day. The team expects him to be available again soon, but for now, he’s resting and recovering.

Juan Soto was in Houston on Thursday getting on base three times in five plate appearances in the Mets ’ Opening Day loss to the Astros, so Yankees captain Aaron Judge was back hitting second and back playing right field at Yankee Stadium for game one of 162.
