When rookie catcher Drake Baldwin and Spencer Schwellenbach formed the battery the Braves used in a 1-0 loss to the Padres on Saturday at Petco Park, it marked just the second time they had ever worked together in a regular season game at the professional level.
Schwellenbach gave up one hit in six scoreless innings, but the Braves went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position in Saturday's loss.

Starting pitcher Spencer Schwellenbach threw six scoreless innings and extended his quality start streak to five games, dating back to 2024. Schwellenbach allowed just one hit and one walk and struck out four batters. He earned a no decision as four Padres pitchers combined to shutout the Braves, leading to Atlanta’s third straight loss.
Strider is expected to pitch for the Gwinnett Stripers on March 29. A Triple-A appearance looks great for Strider’s rehab progress. If he can play the way he did in Grapefruit League games with Gwinnett a spot in a Major League lineup will be in his near future.
