NORTH TEXAS – North Texas is bracing for a mix of snow and sleet. A winter storm warning went into effect Thursday morning and continues until 12 p.m. Friday. The warning includes Denton, Collin, Dallas and Tarrant counties.

Snow and ice and snow are accumulating on bridges and overpasses of major highways, according to TxDOT. Motorists should drive with caution and expect traffic delays.

Today is a FOX 26 Storm Alert Day in southeast Texas. Heavy rain will begin to move in midday with the heaviest rain expected later this afternoon into the evening. Models are showing 2 to 4 inches of rain possible in total and the highest amounts will likely be close to the coast.

The search for Clara Robinson, an 8-year-old Oklahoma girl swept away by North Texas floodwaters on Christmas Eve, has entered its third week. Wednesday marked the 16th day of search efforts led by the Sherman Police Department with aid from other local and state law enforcement agencies.
