With the first night of the draft two weeks away, V.J. Edgecombe appears to be in good position to be selected with the third pick, Jake Fischer of The Stein Line writes in his latest Substack column (subscription required).
If that’s the case, they might want to target Baylor’s V.J. Edgecombe. On top of his two-way potential, it seems like he grew up rooting for the Heat, or at least digging deep into their tape to mold his game.
Edgecombe may not have the upside that an executive will see in players like Bailey or Texas’ Tre Johnson. But he is a player who looks a lot like the ones you see on the court in this year’s NBA Finals, if not in form then in spirit.
