First Steps is coming in lighter than projections in its first box office weekend with $117.6 million. Still records were broken.

First Steps and Superman stack up at the box office and with critics? With both films launching in July 2025, fans and analysts have been comparing every number and rating to see which superhero epic came out on top.

Comparatively, The Fantastic Four: First Steps had a reported budget of $200 million, a figure it has already crossed at the box office. Still, the MCU's latest outing needs to make a minimum of $400 million to break even, with promotional costs driving that number up to $500 million.

The box office just took a walk down memory lane with “Happy Gilmore 2” sequel dropping on Netflix and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” hitting the big screen with its 1960s retro-futuristic world.

First Steps had an overall 44.58 per cent English occupancy today, with 44.13 per cent in the morning and 45.03 per cent in the afternoon.
