Russia on Tuesday said it was wrong to expect a quick breakthrough in Ukraine talks, a day after Moscow rejected Kyiv's call for an unconditional ceasefire at negotiations in Istanbul.

While world leaders bicker over the prospects for peace, the deadliest conflict in Europe since World War Two is heating up fast.

The second round of talks was even shorter than the first and didn’t address any substantive issues to ending the three-year conflict.
