The United Nations will do all it can to help prevent food rations being cut for Rohingya refugees in camps in Bangladesh, U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Friday during a visit to the world’s largest refugee settlement.

Bangladesh says repatriation of the refugees to Myanmar is the ultimate solution. The Buddhist-majority Myanmar has been accused in an international court of genocide against Rohingya. Complexities over verification and other diplomatic and political issues have made the future of the refugees bleak.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres had an iftar with Rohingya refugees in Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh on Friday and raised serious concerns over aid cuts for more than one million people of the ethnic community who fled persecution in Myanmar.
