Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings continue in the mountains through this evening before the snow gradually comes to an end.

Southwest and Central Virginia can expect frigid and blustery conditions behind a clipper system on Friday. The clipper storm system will bring mountain snow showers and gusty northwest winds to the region.

All of Colorado will see frigid temperature highs below freezing on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Brisk northwest winds will carry cold air into Southwest and Central Virginia over the next several days. Mostly to partly sunny skies will be overhead on Thursday. Expect temperatures to start in the sub-freezing 20s and lower 30s before rising into the chilly 30s and 40s by the afternoon.

Although snow accumulations in the metro are expected to be small, higher totals are likely in the eastern plains and high country overnight Saturday into Sunday morning.
