To preview the tournament, The Post caught up with Cobi Jones, a legend of the U.S. men’s national team who knows a thing or two about big soccer games on American soil. Jones, 54, made 164 appearances for the USMNT, including all four matches at the iconic 1994 World Cup hosted in the States.

The Club World Cup gets underway in the United States this weekend. For the first time, the tournament will feature 32 teams, which means greater representation of clubs across the football world, and more matches.

Many of the participating clubs have made big signings ahead of the tournament start as they battle for the trophy and remarkable prize money on offer, which could reach £100milion for the winner. The final takes place in Jersey on July 13.
