Party wise, BJP received a total of 23.59 crore votes, Congress secured a total of 13.67 crore votes, and Samajwadi Party received 2.95 crore votes in the 2024 General Election

The data is released at a time when opposition parties have levelled allegations against the poll body of fudging in figures of voter turnout in the Lok Sabha elections.

As many as 86 per cent of the over 8,300 candidates who contested the Lok Sabha elections earlier this year lost their deposits.

The six national parties secured over 63% of the total valid votes in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. These include BJP, Congress, BSP, CPI(M), AAP, and NPP. Meanwhile, 47 state parties and 3,921 independent candidates also competed.

Lok Sabha elections saw a decline in voter turnout, with women voters surpassing men, according to Election Commission data.

The Election Commission said that these 100 statistical reports will be a treasure trove for academicians, researchers, and election watchers worldwide for in-depth analysis and policy insights.

Of the 642,139,275 votes cast through EVMs in 2024, 51.29% votes (329,361,948) were cast by men, 48.7% (312,764,269) by women, and 0.002% (13,058) by the third gender.
