The Metropolitan Police Department is re-entering into a formal agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement that would allow officers to conduct immigration duties at the Clark County Detention Center.

The new 287(g) agreement is under the Warrant Service Officer program, which enables officers to execute administrative warrants for people already in jail. There will be “no additional changes” to Metro’s immigration policy
