RAISE grants fund surface transportation infrastructure projects with significant local or regional impact, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The city of Knoxville will finally be getting a pedestrian bridge across the Tennessee River near the University of Tennessee, thanks to a $24.7 million RAISE grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The City of Knoxville will receive almost $25 million in federal dollars to kickstart an ongoing downtown Knoxville pedestrian bridge project.

After many years of development, the city of Knoxville will be getting a pedestrian bridge thanks to a federal RAISE Grant, City of Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon shared on Wednesday.
