Germany's imports of goods from Russia fell by 95% in the 2021-2024 period while its exports of goods to Russia were cut by 72%, the country's statistics office Destatis reported on Wednesday. Russia is determined to test the resolve of the NATO alliance, including by extending its confrontation with the West beyond the borders of Ukraine, the Germany's foreign intelligence chief told the Table Media news organization.

Bruno Kahl, President of Germany's Federal Intelligence Service (BND), has said that Russia is preparing to test the credibility of NATO's Article 5, adding that German intelligence has concrete evidence of the Kremlin's preparations for potential aggression against the Alliance.
