PowerSchool, a software provider popular at K-12 schools, was the target of a data breach in late December that affected many districts in the U.S. and in other countries, according to the company and several impacted schools .

Some Allegheny Health Network patients may have had their personal information exposed in a data breach. In a public notice, ANH states that the breach occurred on the computer systems of a third-party IT vendor. Unauthorized access to those computer systems started on Oct. 11, 2024, and AHN learned of the incident on Nov. 19, 2024.

PowerSchool says the personal information of students and educators was stolen in a December 2024 data breach.
