In a statement, the Houthis claimed to have launched drones at the Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv and also at a ship in the Arabian Sea. The Houthi attack temporarily halted arrivals at the airport.

The Israeli military said it intercepted a missile launched from Yemen early Saturday, a day after the Huthi-held capital Sanaa was hit by fresh air strikes.

Israel's air defence intercepted a missile fired from Yemen early on Saturday, according to the military. The missile was shot down before it could reach Israeli territory, the military said on Telegram.

World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on social media he was at the airport during the strike, adding that "one of our plane's crew members was injured".
