The timing of the storm should provide a great show for Europe, but those in North America could also see the dazzling lights if the storm persists into nighttime.

A Geomagnetic Storm Watch is in effect for tonight as a coronal mass ejection (CME) hurdles toward earth with a real good possibility to see the Aurora Borealis, locally, especially after sunset.

Thanks to heightened solar activity, the aurora borealis could be coming to the skies in parts of Texas, space weather forecasters said Thursday.

The aurora borealis, or Northern Lights, could be seen in the sky across New Jersey Thursday night and many residents were able to capture photos of the rare atmospheric phenomenon.
