It depends how far you want to walk and how much you want to see. Half an hour's wander will be enough to see the main part, that's fairly compact. Or, you could include walking up the drive to see all the snowdrops there. That might add half a mile or so. If you want to walk a little further there's the large walled vegetable garden, worth a visit even in winter. You don't go to Rode Hall for long rambles, but it's so beautiful it's always worth a visit.
