The Breakers is an ostentatious house which shows you that money can buy you anything. It’s a shame that the government or state doesn’t make any contribution to the upkeep of the house as the entry … Full review by Priscillataplowuk

The Breakers is always lovely, but some of the rooms are challenging (noise from AC ducts, or lack of a desk.) Big shout out to the extremely gracious and helpful Wilnise at the front desk who spen… Full review by Wanderer58785209179

Is it possible to NOT a pay a ticket? I am not interested in the inside tour. I am interested in just seeing each mansions property and outside, getting some photos and moving on. Its confusing online because the tickets seem for INSIDE tours? But is it free to just admire from the outside? Thanks

You are missing a treat by not visiting the inside! If you take the time to research where the cost of admission goes, there isn’t a better value for the money spent. These wonderful mansions require a great deal of care and upkeep. It is remarkable for us to be granted a look back into the past for the price of one good glass of wine… Do yourself a favor…skip something else, but don’t miss going inside and outside to visit such a grand old piece of history!!

It will depend on when you go. The brochure says effective October 30th, the hours are reduced during the winter months from 10am to 4 pm. However, you can call them or contact them to find out. However, even if they allow admission up until 5pm, I would not wait until that late to begin a tour because the tour can easily take longer than an hour, especially if you: are with multiple people, take your time, take photos and explore the grounds outside.
Q:
Getting to the Breakers from a ship with a mobility scooter. Any tips? Thanks!
A:
I think it would be best to call the breakers and ask them specifics about that, they should know.
