THere is a controller option that says what controller you have. You select ps4. I use a ps4 controller too. I am afraid of destroying my own keyboard in rage. HAHA. Use DS4 Windows.

WEBSep 3, 2017 · There's two styles of PS4 controller, the older kind, and the newer one with the little clear line at the top of the touch pad that lets you see the light on the front of the controller through the touch pad. The one with the clear line does not work for GTAV, but the older one without the clear line does work.

FWIW, all you have to do is go into the controller settings in Steam > General Controller Settings > Check 'PS4 Configuration Support' and you'll be good to go. No need for DS4Windows.

WEBJul 29, 2019 · The system was using the Recommended/default setup which refers to the Steam Controller. This was what was forcing the game to use the incorrect prompts. Navigate to the Community section and select the PS4 layout and it should fix the issue. You might have to go to User Interface > Controller Icon > PS4 in the game setting.

WEBDec 27, 2017 · In the controller settings, its already being seen as a PS4 controller. Click on the game in your Steam library, then go to "controller configuration" under it. It's probably going to say "Official Configuration" on top of the screen with the button layout. Press square to browse different configs.
