Jul 16, 2023. #2. Don’t put chlorine tablets (or really anything else) in your skimmer they are acidic & it’s bad for your equipment. For a quick chlorine boost use liquid chlorine. You need an adequate kit so you can test all your parameters accurately & often.

So you would need about 3 1/2 tablets per week. That would add about 6 ppm CYA per week. Based on your statement, you would need to drain half your pool about every 6 weeks.

The tabs are not good for regular chlorination because the stabilizer and other extra stuff that is included can build up to problematic levels. Probably a couple of days holding the FC at that level will be required. Keeping holding FC at a constant level until the foaming stops.
