Duckstation or beetle psx hw on retroarch and mendafen. Since you know of different emulators, check to see if their compatibility lists mention any issues with the games you want to play.

WEBJan 20, 2024 · You want the PSXONPSP660.bin. Here is a breakdown of them all: SCPH-1000 - The original Japanese BIOS. Released in Japan on 12/3/94. SCPH-1001 - The original North American BIOS. Released in North America on 9/9/95. Has no S-Video output. SCPH-1002 - The original (European). Has no S-Video output like the 1001.

WEBApr 11, 2022 · The cheapest thing you can do is to use Duckstation (best PS1 emulator ever, at least for me) and get even 8K resolution and filters, shaders, etc. You'll get the best absolute graphics of any other option I'll describe later. You can even load upscaled (4K I guess) pre rendered textures pack to get even better image quality.

WEBJan 25, 2022 · EPSXe is a much better and smoother experience. I found DuckStation much easier to make pretty graphics; but EPSXe better for (analog) gameplay. I am not sure. I am using an old Moto G5 and Retroarch with the PCSX rearmed core for PS1 emulation and it works much better than Duckstation.

WEBEa be watching the emulator closely. They’ll release thier old classic collection of sports games but now with ads on every load. Not sure why this got so many upvotes. But RetroArch runs PS1 games way better than Gamma. Gamma can’t even read cue files which is important for games with multiple bin files.
